Sublett Point 50K, 25K, 5K
The event on October 24, 2026 takes place at McMullen Cove Clubhouse and the Two Mountain Trail system, 38 McMullen Ln, Gurley, AL 35748. It is a day of organized running with multiple distances on predominantly single-track trails and sections of double-track and paved greenway.
Distances include:
- 50K two loops of the 25K course
- 25K single loop on the McMullen Cove trail
- 5K Sublett Point Challenge certified out-and-back
The 25K route climbs approximately 2,500+ feet and the 50K about 5,000+ feet. Trails include steep climbs, technical sections, rugged descents, and faster runnable portions. Much of the course runs beneath a dense forest canopy. Notable landmarks along the trails include Indian Trees, Pancake Hollow waterfall, Blake’s Cabin, Sublett Point overlook, and Silo Hill. Aid stations are placed at key points and are never more than four miles apart.
The Sublett Point Challenge 5K follows the Two Mountain Greenway and climbs the paved road to Sublett Point. Awards are given for overall and masters categories, plus a King of the Mountain prize for the fastest climb. A Ruck Division is offered this year for athletes carrying added weight.
Packet pick-up is available Friday at Fleet Feet Huntsville and Saturday at McMullen Cove. Proceeds support childhood cancer research. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
