Huntsville Run Fest

Huntsville Run Fest is a weekend trail running event at McMullen Cove, AL, offering multiple distance options and community-focused activities. The event includes a road and trail 5K plus longer trail races that follow the Two Mountain trail system.

Distances

  • Sublett Challenge 5K
  • 25K Trail Run
  • 50K Trail Run

The Sublett Challenge is a certified 5K out and back on the Two Mountain Greenway that climbs the paved road to Sublett Point and features a King of the Mountain award and a new Ruck Division. The 25K and 50K follow the same single-track course through wooded terrain; the 50K completes the loop twice. Expect mostly single-track, technical sections, steep climbs and rugged descents, shaded canopy, and varied runnable sections. Elevation gain on the course is listed as roughly 2,500+ feet for the 25K and about 5,000+ feet for the 50K.

Notable course features include Indian Trees, Pancake Hollow waterfall, Blake’s Cabin, Sublett Point overlook, and Silo Hill. Aid stations are located at critical points and are no more than four miles apart along the route. Packet pick-up locations include Fleet Feet Huntsville and McMullen Cove. Proceeds from the event support childhood cancer research. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
