Gold Rush Growler 10 Mile & 5K Trail Runs
The Gold Rush Growler events take place Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Granite Beach, Folsom Lake State Recreation Area. The races use new 2026 courses that run along the shoreline and on single track trails, with the start and finish at Granite Beach.
The event offers two distances:
- 10 miles
- 5K (3.1 miles)
The 5K course starts at the south end of Granite Beach, heads north toward Oak Point and Old County, then returns to Granite Beach on a mix of new and established trails. The 10 mile course starts at South Granite Beach, follows Park Road to Doton’s Point, loops through the Old Oak Point Campground, and continues past Doton’s Point toward Nude Beach and Beeks Bight. It includes the Jedi Trail, Original Climb to Dee’s Tree, and the new Flow Trail before returning to Granite Beach on a combination of new and familiar trails.
Aid stations are located near Mile 2 (Doton’s Point), Mile 4.5 (Beeks Bight), and Mile 7.5 (Old County) and provide water, FLUID electrolyte drink, and Hammer Gel. Listening devices such as MP3 players and headphones are allowed; runners must exercise caution when crossing roads and remain attentive on trails.
Race packets are available race morning at the site. Competitor items include a finisher beer glass and beer service for athletes 21 years and older, plus a post race meal of hot soup or chili with fruit, cookies, and a beverage. Divisions run in ten-year age groups from 19 and under to 70 plus for both males and females, with overall champion awards and awards three deep in each age group.
