Gold Rush Growler Trail Runs
The Gold Rush Growler Trail Runs take place Saturday, September 18, 2027 at Granite Beach, Folsom Lake State Recreation Area. The event offers new courses for 2027 with start and finish at Granite Beach and scenic running along the shoreline and single track trails.
Distances include:
- 10 miles
- 5K (3.1 miles)
The 5K course begins at the south end of Granite Beach and heads north toward Oak Point and Old County, returning to Granite Beach on a mix of new and established trails. The new 10 mile course starts at South Granite Beach, goes north to Oak Point, follows the paved Park Road to Doton’s Point after a loop through Old Oak Point Campground, winds around Doton’s Point, moves toward Nude Beach and Beeks Bight, then follows the Jedi Trail to Old County Road and up the Original Climb to Dee’s Tree before returning via the Flow Trail and other trails back to Granite Beach.
Aid stations are located at Mile 2 Doton’s Point, Mile 4.5 Beeks Bight, and Mile 7.5 Old County and will provide water, FLUID performance electrolyte drink, and Hammer Gel. Listening devices such as MP3 players and headphones are allowed; runners must exercise caution when crossing roads and on trails.
Race packets are available race morning from 6:30 am to 8:00 am at the race site. Competitor items include a Gold Rush finisher beer glass and local IPA for athletes 21 and older, a custom race hat, and optional commemorative shirts for $20. Post race food for competitors includes hot soup or chili, fruit, cookies and a beverage.
Both races offer ten year age divisions for male and female competitors from 19 and under through 70 plus. Overall champion awards are given for first place male and female in each race, with awards three deep in each age group. Entry fees vary by date of registration; the 5K fee ranges from $45 to $55 and the 10 mile fee ranges from $50 to $65. TBF Racing has a no refund policy; refunds requested before race week can be issued as race credit minus a $25 processing fee and transfers between TBF events are allowed within one year for a $25 fee. Events are held rain or shine.
