Darrington Single Track Trail Challenge
The event is held in late November 2025 at the Darrington Trail Head in the Folsom Lake area near Pilot Hill, California. The course runs along the lake shore and follows single-track dirt and rocky trails with rolling hills and frequent elevation changes.
Distances offered include:
- 5K 449 ft ascent
- 10K 803 ft ascent
- 18 Mile 2,342 ft ascent
- 36 Mile (Ultra) 4,511 ft ascent
Course markings use pink ribbons, wooden stake signs, and gypsum markings on the ground. Two fully stocked aid stations operate on the course; the primary aid station is at the start/finish and another is at the Peninsula Campground. Aid stations remain open until the last runner arrives and cutoff procedures apply for runners who do not meet station or course cutoffs. Drop bag service is available in the morning and can be staged at the Peninsula Campground for longer distance runners. Support crews may access the start/finish area and the Peninsula Campground.
Logistics notes include available parking with a day use fee, first-come first-served toilets, bib color assignments by distance, commemorative medals for all finishers, and volunteer photographers who will post event photos online. Runners are advised to carry lights for early or late running conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
