Event
The GOAT Run is a point-to-point trail event in Port Angeles, Washington, on September 12, 2026. The race follows the Olympic Adventure Trail and finishes at Lake Crescent inside Olympic National Park. The event includes an after-party at Log Cabin Resort and a free, mandatory shuttle service to the start; return shuttles run approximately every 20 minutes. Pre-registration is required and registration closes September 11, 2026.
Distances
- Half Marathon - about 14 miles, ~1500 ft cumulative elevation gain.
- Marathon - just under 26 miles, ~3500 ft cumulative elevation gain.
- 50K - slightly shorter than the official distance, ~3700 ft cumulative elevation gain.
Course and support
Courses use single-track trail for the majority, mixed with unpaved forest road and a short paved finish. Aid stations provide water, electrolyte drinks, and snacks; station locations vary by distance. Sanicans are available at the start and finish and at specified mid-course points. The trail remains open to the public during the race; runners may encounter hikers, bikers, and horses and should yield to horses.
Policies and prizes
The event is cupless; runners must carry their own hydration vessel. Entry limits apply per distance or wave. Awards are given to the first overall male, female, and non-binary runner in each distance; there are no age-group awards and no finisher medals (participants receive a GOAT Run pint glass). Refund, transfer, and cancellation rules apply, including a 50% refund option until August 15 and specific policies if the race is canceled.
