Great Olympic Adventure Trail (GOAT) Run

The GOAT Run is a point-to-point trail racing event held in Port Angeles, Washington. The courses traverse Kelly Ridge between the Olympic National Park and the Strait of Juan de Fuca, featuring a landscape of evergreen forests, moss, and ferns. All participants finish at the Log Cabin Resort on the shores of Lake Crescent.

The event offers three distinct distances:

  • 50K
  • Marathon
  • Half Marathon (approximately 14 miles)

The 50K course consists of forest roads and 20 miles of single-track trail. The Marathon covers just under 26 miles with approximately 3500 feet of elevation gain, primarily on single-track paths. The Half Marathon includes about 1500 feet of elevation gain and is held in two separate waves.

This is a cupless event, meaning disposable cups are not provided at aid stations. Runners must carry their own hydration vessels or use the reusable cups provided at packet pickup. Aid stations along the routes provide water, electrolytes, and snacks such as fruit and energy bars.

A mandatory shuttle service transports runners from the parking area at Joyce to the various start lines. After the race, return shuttles run approximately every 20 minutes from the finish line back to the parking location. The event concludes with an after-party at the lakeside finish venue featuring food and drinks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
