GOAT Run - Port Angeles, WA
GOAT Run is a point to point trail race on the Olympic Adventure Trail that finishes at Lake Crescent inside Olympic National Park. The course traverses Kelly Ridge between the park and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The finish venue is Log Cabin Resort where an after party with food and drinks is held lakeside.
Distances offered:
- Half Marathon around 14 miles with about 1500 feet elevation gain.
- Marathon just under 26 miles with about 3500 feet elevation gain.
- 50K slightly shorter than the official distance, mixed trail and forest road.
Each distance includes marked trails, aid stations with water, electrolyte and snacks, and portable toilets at the start and finish. Aid station spacing varies by distance and is listed in the course details. The event is cupless; runners may use their own hydration vessel or a reusable SpeedCup provided at packet pickup.
Shuttles to the start are mandatory and depart from the plaza across from Joyce General Store. Return shuttles run approximately every 20 minutes from the finish to the parking area. The trail is open to the public during the race, so runners may encounter bikers, horses and hikers and should yield appropriately. Headphones and dogs are not allowed. Participant caps apply by distance and by wave. A portion of proceeds is donated to local trail organizations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
