Glen Lyon Trail Race is a 15.5 mile foot race held in remote Glen Lyon in the Perthshire hills on 7 June 2026. The course has about 1,500 ft of ascent. Entry fees are shown as £36 (discount) and £38 (standard); the race fee includes a race memento and a goody bag, with a technical race t-shirt available as an optional extra. The event lists UTMB points as n/a and total places as 150. There are no specific entry requirements, but entrants should be confident of running over 15 miles with some elevation.
Course, logistics and rules
The route is 100% off road and follows a loop of Loch Lyon with around six river crossings. Runners should expect wet feet, a steep climb shortly after the start, then an undulating course for roughly fourteen miles, finishing at Glen Lyon Dam. There is a water station at about 8 miles. Camping is available at Glen Lyon Dam the night before and runners’ toilets are provided; open fires are not allowed.
Runners must carry mandatory kit including a foil blanket, water bottle or bladder, food/energy snacks, a working mobile phone with race control number entered, a small first aid kit and a race vest to hold items. Other rules include ID at registration, no transfer of places, no on-the-day entry, no walking poles, no support runners, no dogs, and no littering.
