21st Applecross Duathlon
The 21st Applecross Duathlon takes place on 19 September 2026 on the Applecross peninsula in Scotland. The event is offered as a race or as a challenge and combines a running leg and a road cycling leg through wild and scenic terrain.
The course consists of:
- 9 miles on foot across the Applecross peninsula
- 15 miles on road bike along the coast road
The route involves about 3,300 feet of ascent and an equivalent descent. Registration, tea and prize giving are held at Hartfield House, which is next to the start and finish. Hartfield House provides hostel accommodation with a range of room options, including family rooms with en-suite facilities, and is reserved for duathlon competitors during the event.
Previous entrants have ranged in age from 10 to 80. The event includes a social evening, the Duathlon Ceilidh, in the Community Hall. Entries open on 6 June 2026 and close on 18 September 2026. Entry fees are listed as Junior (under 16) £10 and Adult £35. The organiser offers an option to purchase XCover for possible refunds in specified circumstances.
