Event Details

The Applecross Duathlon involves 9 miles on foot and 15 miles by road bike, with a total ascent and descent of approximately 3,300 feet. The route starts at Applecross Bay, goes across the peninsula on foot, and follows the coast road by bike.

Event Format

The event offers both a "Challenge" and a "Race" format. The Challenge start is at midday, suitable for participants wanting a more relaxed experience, while the Race start is at 1:00 pm. The route is described as a testing course through wild and scenic terrain and is considered by some to be Scotland's most spectacular duathlon route.

Venue and Accommodation

Registration, refreshments, and prize-giving all take place at Hartfield House, which is located next to the start and finish area. Hartfield House offers hostel accommodation reserved for participants, including family rooms with en-suite facilities. An optional 'Duathlon Ceilidh' in the Community Hall is also mentioned.

Participation
