Applecross Duathlon : Scottish Highlands
The Applecross Duathlon is an annual run-then-cycle event held on the Applecross peninsula, with the start and finish at Hartfield House in Wester Ross, Scottish Highlands. The 2026 edition is scheduled for 19 September 2026 and entries open on 6 June via SiEntries.
The course begins at Hartfield House, about 1 km inland from Applecross Bay, and follows an ancient right of way north across the peninsula to the coast road near Kenmore on Loch Torridon. Competitors reach a high point near 260 m before a final approach on foot to the transition area at Arrina. The bike leg follows roughly 24.1 km along the coastal road with views over Loch Torridon and across to the Skye Cuillin, returning to Hartfield House.
There are two entry options: the Race and the Challenge. The Challenge is intended for participants who expect to take longer on the course or plan to walk parts of it; participants are timed in both options. Registration, refreshments and prize giving take place at Hartfield House. The house provides hostel accommodation, including family rooms with en-suite facilities, and is reserved for competitors during the event.
Entry fees are detailed on the organiser pages and are set at £35 for adults and £10 for under 16s. All profit is donated to the local sports and wellbeing association.
