The Girls on the Run St. Louis 5K is a season-closing event held in Forest Park, St. Louis, MO on November 14, 2026. The course covers 3.1 miles and stays entirely within Forest Park. The event is presented as a celebratory experience that gives program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment; every registered participant receives a commemorative medal, a giveaway item, and finish line snacks.

Community members, family, and friends may register to participate; all participants must complete official 5K registration forms that include liability waivers. All Girls on the Run program participants and coaches are registered through the program and do not need separate race registration. Duplicate registrations cannot be refunded.

Registration pricing is tiered by date: $30 from September 1 to September 30, $35 from October 1 to November 13, and $40 for day-of registration on November 14. Packet pickup for running buddies and community participants is available the day before the race at three Big River Running locations in Ballwin, University City, and South City.

Logistics include a Race Village and School Village area for team staging, various parking options in and near Forest Park, a shuttle from St. Louis Community College parking lots to Race Village, and limited accessible parking by advance request. The council provides an event guide with maps and parking information and posts race results online after the event.

Volunteers are recruited for many roles including course marshals, finish line support, packet pickup assistance, Race Village setup, water stations, recycling, registration and results, and teardown. Dogs and strollers are not allowed on the course. The event offers merchandise, music, happy hair stations, and staggered wave starts to reduce crowding on the course.
