Harrisburg 5K : Girls on the Run Mid State PA
The Harrisburg event is a season-closing 5K celebration hosted by Girls on the Run Mid State PA at Harrisburg Area Community College (One HACC Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17110) on Sunday, November 22, 2026. The 5K is 3.1 miles and serves as the culminating event for program teams; program participants are already registered through the council.
Online 5K registration opens on September 18 and runs through early November; the standard online fee is $30 and the registration fee increases to $35 for on-site day of event registration. Participants who register by October 19 are guaranteed a Girls on the Run 5K shirt. The event will not be chip timed. Every registered participant who completes the course receives a commemorative medal.
The council provides safety measures including race bibs for all participants, assigned running buddies for program participants, course monitoring and head counts, and a safety plan for staff and volunteers. The course and venue are accessible for participants who walk, run, roll or push; designated accessible parking is available and may require an accessible placard or special parking arrangements.
Volunteers support multiple roles on event day, such as Friends and Family Zone activities, cheer stations, course guides, spirit runners and walkers, water stations and course clean up. Spirit Runner volunteers wear Girls on the Run capes and require clearances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
