5K Celebration : Confidence through Accomplishment
The Girls on the Run Greater Rochester 5K Celebration is an end-of-season event held on November 14, 2026 at Monroe Community College, Brighton Campus in Rochester, NY. The course is a standard 5K distance of 3.1 miles and is presented as a celebratory, noncompetitive culmination of the season.
Program participants and coaches are included through their program registration and receive a commemorative medal for completing the course. Community members, family and friends may join as registered participants or as virtual runners; running buddy registration options are available for adults and youth, and a virtual community runner option is offered.
Safety measures include mandatory race bibs, course marshalls, a council safety plan and recommended running buddies. The course is accessible for people with disabilities and designated parking is available. Volunteers support roles such as photographers, course marshalls, water stations, finish line attendants and activity stations; volunteers appointed through the council undergo a background check. Additional on-site activities include face painting, shirt signing, temporary tattoos, water stations and merchandise sales.
The council may run site-based courses at team practice locations or participate in external community 5Ks as the culminating event.
