18th Annual Scare Brain Cancer Away 5K Run/Walk : October 31, 2026
The event is a community running and walking event held at East Rochester High School with a course that runs through the streets of East Rochester. The program includes both a competitive 5K and a shorter recreational walk.

- 1.5 mile walk
Entry for each distance carries a registration fee of $35.00. USATF members receive a discount applied at checkout. The cutoff to guarantee a race shirt on race day is October 1. Packet pick up is available Friday, October 30, 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Rochester Running Company on Mt. Hope Avenue, or race morning 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. at the high school. Race day registration is available.
Event amenities listed by the organizer include a race t-shirt, a post-race gathering, and awards for the top three finishers in each five-year age group. Overall prizes are stated for the top three finishers and a prize for top masters. Proceeds from the event will be split between the family of the honored individual and the Wilmot Cancer Center Needs Fund.
