18th Annual Scare Brain Cancer Away 5K Run/Walk - East Rochester
This community event, held on October 31, 2026, uses East Rochester High School as the start and finish and follows a course through the streets of East Rochester. It includes a 5K run/walk and a separate 1.5 mile walk.

Registration has a fee of $35.00 for each event and USATF members receive a discount at checkout. T-shirts are offered; the cutoff to guarantee a shirt on race day is October 1. Packet pick up is available Friday, October 30, 12:00 to 18:00 at Rochester Running Company on Mt. Hope Avenue, or race morning 7:30 to 8:45 at the school. Race day registration is available.
Awards are presented to the top three finishers in each five year age group and overall awards are paid to the top three overall finishers: first $50, second $40, third $30. A top masters award of $30 is also listed. Post race awards and a post race party are part of the event. Proceeds from the race will be split between the 2026 race recipient and the Wilmot Cancer Center Needs Fund. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
