Spring 5K Celebration
The Girls on the Run Greater Piedmont Spring 5K is a season-ending celebratory event held at Salisbury Community Park in Salisbury, NC on November 21, 2026. The event offers a 5K course of 3.1 miles and a separate kids dash for younger children.

The 5K is described as a noncompetitive closing event for program participants and coaches. Program participants of all abilities receive a commemorative medal. Community runners may register for a $30 fee; one running buddy per girl is included in the season cost. The kids dash has a separate fee of $15.
Event logistics include free parking on the park grounds and designated accessible parking. Safety measures require every participant to wear a provided race bib, assign a running buddy, monitor the course, and sweep the route after the event. The council maintains a written safety plan and trains staff and volunteers to respond to emergencies.
The event features additional activities such as dancing, a merchandise booth, happy hair stations, water stations, and cheer stations. Volunteers support setup, registration, course marshaling, running buddy roles, water stations, cheer stations, and teardown. National and local sponsors support the event.
