Spring 5K Celebration
Girls on the Run Greater Piedmont stages a season-closing Spring 5K celebration on Saturday, November 21, 2026, at Salisbury Community Park, 935 Hurley School Rd, Salisbury, NC. The event marks the end of the program season and gives participants a tangible sense of accomplishment. Every program participant receives a commemorative medal.
The event offers the following distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- Kids Dash - 400 meter dash before the 5K
Girl program participants and coaches are already registered for the 5K. Family members and community runners may join as Community Runners; the community runner fee is $30. A Running Buddy may accompany each girl; one Running Buddy per girl is included in the season cost. The Kids Dash has a separate fee of $15.
Organizers provide free parking on park grounds and advise arriving at least one hour before the event to warm up and complete check-in. For safety, every participant must wear a race bib, each participant is paired with a Running Buddy, the course is monitored and swept, and staff and volunteers follow a safety plan. The event is accessible for people with disabilities and includes designated accessible parking.
Additional on-site features include merchandise sales, dancing, Happy Hair stations, water and cheer stations, and a Kids Dash prior to the 5K.
