About the race
BRRC presents a cross country race at Herring Run Park on November 15, 2026. The event features a 5K course that uses a mix of paved paths, open field sections and technical single-track trails. The course crosses the river twice and follows routes through wooded areas near the Herring Run Bridge.
The race uses a cross country style start with field running to spread out participants. The course differs from local high school layouts and includes some technical sections where trail shoes may be beneficial, though road shoes are acceptable for much of the route.
The race start is located along Belair Road on the Chesterfield side near a muraled shed. Participants are advised to park on Belair Road or Chesterfield Road and walk toward the start area, which is upstream of the Herring Run Bridge on the Chesterfield side.
Entry to the event is free; donations are accepted for the scholarship fund for college freshmen or to the Friends of Herring Run Parks. This event closes the club s GPS race series for the year. Volunteers are needed because the course contains many turns within a compact area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
