5K Celebration
The Girls on the Run Central Illinois 5K Celebration is a season-closing, non-competitive event that gives program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment. The event is scheduled for November 14, 2026, at Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, IL.
The course used for this event measures 2.9 miles. Every registered community participant who completes the course receives a commemorative medal and a race swag bag that includes a race shirt. Shirt sizes are only guaranteed for registrations completed by October 22. Program participants and coaches are pre-registered and do not need to register again.
Registration fees vary by date and age category: adult rates are $30 (early), $35 (standard), and $40 (day of); youth rates are $20 (early), $25 (standard), and $30 (day of). All registrations include a liability waiver. The event is held rain or shine; it may be delayed for thunder or lightning, and registration fees are nonrefundable.
Safety measures include a race bib with medical information for every participant, first aid in the race village and on course, monitored course head counts, and a council safety plan. The course and event are accessible so participants can walk, run, push, or roll at their own pace; designated parking and service animal accommodations are available.
