LuHi Turkey Trot - Springfield
The LuHi Turkey Trot takes place at the former Lutheran High School athletic field, 3601 Washington Ave., Springfield, IL. This is the event’s first year at this field and continues a five-year tradition previously held at Harrison Park. Proceeds will benefit the Lutheran High School Cross Country program.
The event includes the following distances:
- 5K chip-timed race
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
The course circles the running track and follows the Sangamon Valley Trail along the southern edge of the athletic field. All participants receive an official LuHi Turkey Trot T-shirt, a finisher medal for either distance, and post-race food and drinks.
Awards will be presented to the top overall male and female finishers in both the 5K and the 1 Mile. In the 5K, awards are also given to the top three male and female finishers in each age group: 12 and under, 13–15, 16–18, 19–22, 23–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, 70–79, and 80–89.
Registration details from the organizer: registration opens June 1, 2026; the 5K registration closes September 14, 2026 and the 1 Mile registration closes November 14, 2026. Registration fees are $25 for each listed event. A family discount of 10 percent applies to 5K registrations when two or more household members register together using code FAM10.
