Event overview
The Gingerbread Lane 5K & 10K San Antonio takes place on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at McAllister Park Pavilion #5, 13102 Jones-Maltsberger Rd, San Antonio, TX 78232. The event includes on-site music from a DJ, post-finish holiday cookies and milk, and a holiday-themed costume contest with prizes including two free entries to a future Bigfoot Race, a trophy, and a holiday treats bucket. Every participant receives a holiday-themed race shirt and a festive medal; shirt guarantee cutoff is 10 days before the event. The course is expected to use parks and greenbelts and may include paved trails, crushed granite, and occasional dirt paths.
Race formats, awards and volunteering
Multiple race formats are offered, including in-person and virtual options. The 5K and 10K are chip timed and have overall trophies, masters recognition, and standard age-group awards. All finishers of each distance receive a medal and shirt. The event lists age-group awards from 10 and under through 70+ with 1st/2nd/3rd placements for most groups; masters (40+) receive special recognition pins and 1st overall M/F receive trophies.
Volunteer opportunities include water station, course monitor, finish line helper, sweeper, packet pickup, lead bike, and mascot roles.
