Ghost of the Coast Fun Run
The Ghost of the Coast Fun Run takes place on October 31, 2026 at Eastwood Golf Course in Fort Myers, Florida. The event includes a chip-timed 5K and a separate one-mile fun run/walk. Registration opens August 2, 2026 and closes September 26, 2026; the registration fee for the listed events is $30.
The event benefits the Fort Myers Police Department Police Athletic League (PAL), which supports youth programs through athletics, mentorship and community engagement. The 5K follows a course through the golf course grounds and is timed with chip timing. Costumes are strongly encouraged for participants, families and pets.
Organizers present traditional race awards for top overall male and female finishers and for male and female age-group winners. In addition, costume awards will be given for Best Family Costume, Best Male Costume, Best Female Costume, Best Couple Costume and Best Pet Costume; creativity is emphasized in costume judging.
A finish-line gathering includes opportunities for children to collect candy and for participants and families to enjoy snow cones, popcorn, cotton candy, Halloween candy, music and finish-line entertainment along with the costume contests and awards.
