The Fast & The Furriest 5K
The Fast & The Furriest is a 5K run and walk event benefiting the Gulf Coast Humane Society. It takes place on November 7, 2026, at the Edison Mall / Bell Tower Shops in Fort Myers, Florida. The event is a chip-timed 5K course that goes through and around the mall grounds.
This event is dog-friendly. Participants are encouraged to bring their leashed dogs. For safety, only standard, non-retractable leashes no longer than 6 feet are permitted. Each participant may bring only one dog, which must be well-behaved, socialized, and current on vaccinations. Water bowls, treats, and clean-up bags are provided on-site.
The registration fee for the event is $30. Participants receive a t-shirt, a finisher medal, and a commemorative race leash. A post-race party with dog-friendly activities is planned. Awards are given to top finishers and best-dressed pets. Proceeds from the event support the Gulf Coast Humane Society's mission to care for and rehome animals.
