About the race
The Get Your Kicks event on September 12, 2026, marks the 100th anniversary of Route 66 and is hosted at Carlinville Area Hospital & Clinics, 20733 N. Broad Street, Carlinville, IL. The program includes a main running race and a shorter family-friendly Fun Run.
The mostly flat 5K course begins along the CAH&C Wellness Path and then follows quiet streets in Carlinville before passing the grounds of the Macoupin County Historical Society's Anderson Mansion. The route is described as suitable for runners, walkers, and spectators.
