Event overview
The Lake Lou Yaeger Triathlon takes place on May 17, 2026 in Litchfield, Illinois (4392 Beach House Trail, 62056). This is the inaugural edition. The race program includes sprint and Olympic distance formats offered as individual, aquabike, and relay events, plus a sprint high school triathlon.
Format, eligibility and fees
The swim portion uses a beach start at Lake Lou Yaeger. The bike course follows flat country roads around the area. The run course passes lake shoreline areas and campsites. An open water swim clinic is scheduled the day before the triathlon, on May 16, 2026.
Age and fee details published for the events include:
- Sprint individual, sprint aquabike, sprint relay, Olympic individual, Olympic aquabike, and Olympic relay: open to ages 14 and older.
- Sprint high school triathlon: open to ages 14 to 18.
Published entry fees (subject to increase on April 6, 2026) include $125 for the sprint individual, $120 for sprint aquabike, $80 for the sprint high school triathlon, $195 for the sprint relay, $135 for the Olympic individual, $130 for Olympic aquabike, and $225 for the Olympic relay.
