About the race
The Route 66 event in Livingston, Illinois includes a themed 5K Alien Chase Run/Walk that takes part of its course along Old Route 66 and starts at The Pink Elephant Antique Mall. The race is presented as part of a larger festival with vendors and family activities on the lawn.
The event features speakers on UFOs, UFO games, cornhole, inflatables, an Intergalactic Pinup Contest, and food vendors including Twistee Treat Diner, Mother Road Fudge, and the EATS Truck. More than 50 vendor booths are planned on the lawn for shopping and food.
Race registration is available online or in person on the day of the event, and registration in advance is preferred. Race entries include a dry-fit unisex shirt when registered by July 1, a weather- and sweat-proof bib, and a bottle of water. Finisher awards are planned for first, second, and third place in adult and youth divisions, and organizers are working on a finisher medal for all who complete the course. Limited shirts will be available at the event; only one shirt is provided per ticket and extra charges apply for larger sizes.
All ages are welcome. For safety, bicycles, roller skates, scooters, in-line skates, and dogs are prohibited on the race course. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Mt Olive IL Food Pantries. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
