Get Your Butt Kicked at Route 66
The event takes place at Route 66 State Park just east of Eureka, MO, on trails that run along the Meramec River. The course is a measured long loop of 2.425 miles through the park's wooded northwest corner, plus a short loop of 0.333 miles used when there is not enough time to complete another long loop. Surface types include thin pavement, chip-n-seal, and fine gravel.
Race options are timed events with the following choices:
- 3 hour timed race
- 6 hour timed race
Only completed loops are counted. Final distance equals the number of completed long loops multiplied by 2.425 miles plus the number of completed short loops multiplied by 0.333 miles. Pacers must be registered for insurance purposes.
The start and finish area is at the Forest Shelter, which serves as the main aid station and will provide Ultra-Food. This is a cupless event; water jugs will be available for participants to refill their own hydration systems. Two unisex flush toilets are located on course and additional porta potties are provided. Parking is available at the Forest Shelter, Dogwood Shelter, and near the Times Beach Memorial Playground.
Participants are required to carry their own hydration system and a headlamp or handheld light for running in darkness. The event is organized by the Saint Louis Ultrarunners Group and proceeds support local running activities and trail maintenance.
All finishers receive a finisher medal and each participant receives a pair of custom GYBK Sock Guy socks. Awards are given for overall winners and age group winners as specified for each race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
