Get Your Butt Kicked @ Route 66
Get Your Butt Kicked at Route 66 is a timed loop running event held at Route 66 State Park near Eureka, MO, along the Meramec River. The course uses a measured long loop of 2.425 miles through the park's wooded northwest corner and a short loop of 0.333 miles for final partial laps. The long loop follows a wide path of thin pavement, chip n seal, and fine gravel.
Distances:
- 3 hour race
- 6 hour race
The Forest Shelter serves as the start and finish area, and as the main aid station offering Ultra Food. The event is cupless; water jugs are provided at the aid station and participants must use their own hydration systems. Two unisex flush toilets and two porta potties are available on course. Headlamps or handheld lights are required because the event continues into night hours. Participants are expected to be acclimated to mid summer heat and to maintain hydration.
Timing counts only completed long and short loops. When a runner stops attempting another long loop, they may complete short loops until time expires; final distance equals completed long loops times 2.425 miles plus completed short loops times 0.333 miles. The event is organized by the Saint Louis Ultrarunners Group. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
