Get Lucky 10K and Half Marathon Run/Walk
The Get Lucky 10K and Half Marathon Run/Walk is an annual athletic event held in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The event takes place in March to coincide with St. Patrick's Day celebrations. Participants start and finish their respective distances at Ferry Park, located at 240 Hughes Street NE.
The course is described as fast and flat, navigating through the scenic neighborhoods of downtown Fort Walton Beach. For those participating in the walking categories, the event enforces a three-hour time limit, with the course officially closing at 10:30 am. Participants can choose between several categories for both runners and walkers:
- 10K Run
- 10K Walk
- Half Marathon Run
- Half Marathon Walk
The course includes specific support infrastructure, with two aid stations located along the 10K route and three aid stations provided for the half marathon. All registered participants who finish the course receive a finisher's medal, with medals guaranteed for the first 75 registrants in each race.
Following the completion of the races, an awards ceremony and after-party are held at the Ferry Park Pavilions. Food, beer, and soft drinks are provided for registered participants. Awards are issued for top overall finishers and various age groups in the running categories, while the top three overall male and female finishers are recognized in the walking categories.
