The Georgia Aquarium 5K: Seahorse is a 5K (3.1 miles) walk/run held on March 7, 2026, at Georgia Aquarium / Pemberton Place, 225 Baker Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30313. This is the event's ninth year. The course is an out-and-back and is USATF certified (Map #GA20016WC). The in-person race serves as an Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race qualifier; that qualifier status applies to the in-person option only.
Race formats and participant items
There are two formats: an in-person 5K and a virtual 5K. The virtual option can be completed anywhere between March 7, 2026 and April 12, 2026. All participants receive a runner bib, drawstring bag, commemorative t-shirt, and a collectable themed finisher medal. Strollers are allowed on course; dogs are prohibited.
Policies, safety, and proceeds
Registrations are final. Participants may request a transfer between in-person and virtual entries until February 20, 2026, with a transfer fee plus taxes; refunds are not provided. The in-person race will proceed in rain or snow, but the start may be delayed or the race canceled for lightning or extreme or severe weather near the course.
