George Washington Patriot Run
The George Washington Patriot Run is a road race held at George Washington's Mount Vernon on Sept. 13, 2026. The event offers two distance options that follow a course along the Potomac River and use both lanes of a five mile stretch of the George Washington Parkway from the GW Parkway Circle to W. Boulevard Drive. The finish area provides views of George Washington's Mansion.
Participants receive a commemorative George Washington Patriot Run technical t-shirt and a finisher medal engraved with George Washington's bust. A Finish Festival at the event site includes music, food and beverage concessions, a Mount Vernon food truck, and a complimentary beer for each runner. Awards are presented to first place overall, by age division, and in Military and First Responder categories.
Practical information on parking notes that a parking pass must be purchased during race registration to guarantee a parking spot; additional on-site parking at Mount Vernon is not available. Entry fees vary by distance and registration period, with lower and higher price ranges listed for the 5K and 10 mile options. The event is organized by George Washington's Mount Vernon and takes place on the Mount Vernon estate in Northern Virginia, just outside Washington, D.C.
