Event Overview
The George Washington Patriot Run 10 Miler is part of the 11th annual event held at George Washington's Mount Vernon in Virginia. The event also features a separate 5K race.
Event Location and Course
The event takes place at George Washington's Mount Vernon, with an address of 3200 Mount Vernon Memorial Hwy, Mount Vernon, VA. The 10-Miler course uses a section of the George Washington Memorial Parkway, a highway that runs along the south bank of the Potomac River. The course utilizes both lanes of a 5-mile stretch of the parkway between the GW Parkway Circle and W. Boulevard Drive.
Participant Information
All participants receive a commemorative technical t-shirt and a finisher medal engraved with George Washington's bust. Awards are presented to the first place overall, by age division, and in special categories for Military and First Responder participants.
Additional Perks and Logistics
After the race, runners are invited to tour the interior of George Washington's Mansion by showing their race bib. A free round-trip shuttle service is available on race morning between Alexandria, VA, and Mount Vernon. Reserved parking at Mount Vernon is available for purchase during registration. A "Kiss n Ride" drop-off point is available at the Mount Vernon Post Office. The Finish Festival includes music, food and beverage concessions, and a free beer for each runner. In-person registration includes free admission to George Washington’s Mount Vernon.
All active-duty public safety personnel and members of the military (including veterans) receive a $5.00 discount on registration. There is no in-person registration or payment at packet pickup; registration must be completed online. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
