George Washington Patriot Run
The George Washington Patriot Run is an annual event held at Mount Vernon in Northern Virginia. The 11th edition of the race celebrates America's semiquincentennial and takes place on the historic estate and its surroundings. Participants finish their run with a view of George Washington's Mansion.
The event offers two main distances:
- 10-miler
- 5K
The racecourse covers a five-mile stretch of the George Washington Parkway, utilizing both lanes between the GW Parkway Circle and W. Boulevard Drive. Runners of all levels are welcome to participate in this commemorative event.
All registered participants receive a technical t-shirt and a finisher medal featuring George Washington's bust. Following the race, the Finish Festival provides music, food, and beverages. One complimentary beer is provided to each runner aged 21 and over. Concessions such as breakfast items, sandwiches, and snacks are available for purchase at the Mount Vernon Food Truck.
Awards are presented to the top finishers in the overall category, age divisions, and military or first responder categories. Parking at the venue is limited, and participants are encouraged to purchase a parking pass during the registration process to secure a space on-site.
