George W. Buck Boys & Girls Club of Joliet 5K Run/Walk
The George W. Buck Boys & Girls Club of Joliet Inaugural 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for Sunday, May 31, 2026, in Joliet, Illinois. The event takes place on the main campus of Joliet Junior College at 1215 Houbolt Road. It is organized as a non profit event and all proceeds and donations go directly to the G W Buck Boys & Girls Club.
The Club states its mission as: "To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens." At no cost to members, the Club provides educational programming and tutoring, health and life skills, sports, fitness and recreation, and meals through the Northern Illinois Food Bank, within a facility described as a safe place to learn and grow.
Packet pickup is offered in the days before and on the day of the event at specified locations. Pickup locations include the G W Buck Boys & Girls Club at 226 E Clinton Street and the Law Offices of Rathbun, Cservenyak & Kozol LLC at 3260 Executive Drive; race morning pickup is available at the event site on the Joliet Junior College campus. Awards are presented to the top three male and top three female finishers in each age category: Under 10, 11-15, 16-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70, 71-80, and 81 and over.
