The George W. Buck Boys & Girls Club of Joliet 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for Sunday, May 31, 2026, on the main campus of Joliet Junior College at 1215 Houbolt Road, Joliet, IL 60432. The event is the inaugural edition and is listed as a non-profit; all proceeds and donations go directly to the G W Buck Boys & Girls Club. Registration opens February 28, 2026, and the listed entry fee for the 5K is $30.
Purpose and logistics
The event supports the George Werden Buck Boys & Girls Club of Joliet. The Club’s mission is “To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.” The Club provides educational programming and tutoring, health and life skills, sports, fitness, recreation, and meals through the Northern Illinois Food Bank at no cost to members.
Packet pickup is offered on Friday, May 30 at the G W Buck Boys & Girls Club (226 E Clinton Street, Joliet) and on Saturday, May 31 at the Law Offices of Rathbun, Cservenyak & Kozol LLC (3260 Executive Drive, Joliet). Race-morning packet pickup is also available. Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each age category from under 10 through 81 and over.
