Gateshead Trail 10k - 29 August 2026
The Gateshead Trail 10k is a 10 km multi-terrain trail race that runs through Derwent Walk Country Park near Newcastle. The event is scheduled as the 11th and final edition and uses Blaydon Rugby Club as the start and finish location.
The course follows well maintained paths with some off-road sections that are hard packed and easy to run on. It includes a few mildly challenging inclines, creative sweeping lines and loop-back sections that add a social element on the route. The organisers describe the course as scenic and fast enough to allow personal bests for some runners.
The start and finish area at Blaydon Rugby Club features DJ and MC coverage from Frisk Radio. Street food vendors will offer hot sandwiches, wood fired pizza and coffee, and the rugby club bar will be open after the race. Facilities listed include toilets and an onsite retailer.
Entry details state a minimum age of 15 or older, an entry fee of £29.00, and an entry period opening 26 April 2026 and closing 27 August 2026. Entries include chip timing and a personalised number, a bespoke finisher medal, free professional photos on Facebook, post race goodies, free onsite parking, instant live results, friendly marshals and a qualified medical team.
