Gateshead Trail 10k
The Gateshead Trail 10k is a multi terrain, 10 km trail race held on 29 August 2026 around Derwent Walk Country Park. The event uses Blaydon Rugby Club as the start and finish location and takes place near Swalwell in Newcastle upon Tyne.
The course runs largely on well maintained, hard packed off road paths with a few mildly challenging inclines. The route includes creative sections with sweeping lines and loop back areas that create a social element as runners pass each other. The organisers describe the course as scenic and fast, and suitable as an introduction to trail running.
Event entries have a minimum age of 15 and an entry fee of £29.00. Entry includes chip timing with a personalised number, a bespoke finishers medal, free onsite parking, instant live results, free professional photos posted on social media, friendly marshalls, and a qualified medical team.
The start and finish area at Blaydon Rugby Club features music from local DJs and MCs.
