Gate To Gate Memorial Run/Walk - 40th Anniversary
The Gate To Gate Memorial Run/Walk on May 16, 2026, at Eglin Air Force Base marks the event's 40th anniversary and is designated a Cornerstone America 250 event. The event uses a restored, literal gate-to-gate course and offers a 4.4-mile run/walk intended as a public act of remembrance for service members who lost their lives in defense of the United States.
Registration is limited to the first 1,500 entries. Fee periods are listed for different registration windows and categories; late and DoW-only registration options are available. Team registration is permitted with up to four members per team in Male, Female, and Co-Ed categories. The first 600 paid participants will receive a commemorative tote; a limited edition commemorative medal is reserved for the first 1,000 finishers.
Packet pick-up occurs before event day at two designated locations: Zatitude Luxury Apartments (Freedom Tech Center) in Fort Walton Beach and the Main Exchange Food Court on Eglin AFB. Photo ID is required for packet pick-up and base access. Non-DoW guests must be registered for base access and submitted for vetting by the stated deadline. Race packets will not be mailed and cash or check payments are not accepted.
Additional event provisions include a free kids run for ages 5 to 12, an awards program with age-group classifications and overall trophies, shuttle transport to the start, restrictions on pets and certain equipment, and no-refund and security policies.
