45th Annual Gary Brown Memorial C&O Canal Five Mile Run
The 45th Annual Gary Brown Memorial C&O Canal Five Mile Run will take place on June 6, 2026, in Williamsport, Maryland. The event is held on the C&O Canal Towpath with start and finish at Riverbottom Park and traces a flat, fast out-and-back course. Most of the route is shaded.

The event traces a race history dating to 1970 and was re-named in honor of Gary Brown in 1982. Timing is provided by Racine Timing with bib chip timing and instant results. The event package notes a race technical T-shirt (registration deadline applies to guarantee shirt and size), custom awards for podium finishers, on-course music, and professional organization.
Packet pickup is available the day before at a local running store and on race morning at Riverbottom Park. Parking for participants is limited to Cushwa Basin, Lock House 44 parking lots, and legal street parking on N Commerce Street or W Salisbury Street; participants are asked to avoid driving across the wooden bridge looking for parking unless arriving very early.
Awards include top overall male and female, top-two masters (40 and over) male and female, and age-group awards across standard brackets including high school categories.
