Garden of the Gods Ten Mile Run course information
The Garden of the Gods Ten Mile Run takes place in Garden of the Gods Park and finishes at Rock Ledge Ranch, where a post-race area includes food, beer, music, and vendors. The event will celebrate its 50th running in 2026.
Distances offered include:
- 10 mile road course
- 10K road course
- 10K trail course
The 10 mile and 10K road courses loop through the park between Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs. The course low point is 6,210 ft and the high point is 6,530 ft, with almost 1,000 ft of total elevation gain on the 10 mile course. Most of the road races are on asphalt, with short sections on concrete walkways or gravel roads. Eight aid stations are placed along the road course with water and Gatorade available.
Typical weather is clear and dry, with temperatures often in the low 60s at the start and rising into the 70s or low 80s by the end. Garden roads are closed to traffic during the race; there is a finish line cutoff to accommodate park reopening, and runners remaining after the cutoff are responsible for their own return.
The 10K trail course starts on Gateway Road and soon moves to dirt with gravel, rocks, and roots underfoot. The trail route passes the Homestead Trail, the Valley Reservoir area, and central Garden trails, with notable views of Pikes Peak and the park rock formations.
