5k Fun Run - Galveston Island Shrimp Festival
This event is a community 5k run presented by Moody National Bank and held as part of the Galveston Island Shrimp Festival. The run takes place in the Historic Downtown Strand District at Saengerfest Park, 2302 Strand, Galveston, TX 77550.
Registration is offered in two formats: 5k only and a 5k plus Gumbo Stroll combo. The 5k only package includes race registration, an exclusive event T shirt, a participation medal, and three free beers. The combo package adds a Gumbo Stroll tasting cup while keeping the same race items. Shirt styles and sizes are guaranteed for registrations completed by 9/9/26.
Event logistics on race day include day of registration and packet pickup, warm up activities, post run activities and a packet pickup social the evening before with a complimentary libation during the designated check in period. A portion of proceeds benefits The Justin Hughes Fund at The University of Texas Medical Branch, which raises awareness and provides assistance to medical students experiencing depression.
