5k Fun Run - Galveston Island Shrimp Festival
The 5k Fun Run is part of the Galveston Island Shrimp Festival and is presented by Moody National Bank. It is scheduled for September 26, 2026, and takes place in the Historic Downtown Strand District at Saengerfest Park, 2302 Strand, Galveston, TX.

Day-of activities include day-of registration and packet pickup, warm-up activities, and post-run fun. A runner’s happy hour and packet pickup are scheduled on the day before the race and include a free libation.
A portion of proceeds supports the Justin Hughes Fund at The University of Texas Medical Branch; that fund raises awareness and provides assistance to medical students experiencing depression.
