5K Fun Run and Family Walk
Organized by the Chicago Coalition for Family Building, this event serves as the Coalition's main fundraiser for the year and takes place in September 2026 at Blue Star Memorial Woods in Glenview, Illinois. The event combines in-person and virtual options and aims to raise funds to reduce financial barriers to family building.
The schedule centers on a chip-timed 5K and includes a Kids Dash and a Family Walk. A Virtual 5K option is available for remote participants. On-site activities described for the day include a DJ, food truck, face painting, arts and crafts, participant swag and race shirts. The organizer notes a shirt size guarantee for registrations completed before September 10.
Participants have the opportunity to host personal fundraising pages and to form teams to run, walk or bike the 5K. The event lists registration opening on January 1, 2026. Posted registration fees are $35 for the in-person 5K, $25 for the Kids Dash and $25 for the Virtual 5K.
