Event overview

The Prostate Cancer Awareness 5K Walk/Run/Bike is set for Saturday, August 15, 2026. It is the ninth annual 5K event sponsored by the Prince Hall Masons in the State of Illinois. The event combines walking, running, and cycling and is intended to raise awareness of prostate cancer, screenings, early detection, treatment options, and ongoing research. All net proceeds are donated to prostate cancer awareness and research and to assist with free screenings.

Locations and course

The event is held simultaneously at four Illinois locations: Chicago, Aurora, Springfield, and East St. Louis. The Chicago course starts and ends at 809 E. 42nd Place and includes a route that goes east to Oakenwald Street, north to 41st, across a bridge, then separates for bikers (to a bike trail north to 35th Street) and for runners/walkers (to a walking trail north to 35th Street), with a westward crossing to Cottage Grove before returning south to 809 E. 42nd Place. Other locations are Maston Lake Trail at Phillips Park (Aurora), Dreamland Park, 2300 Taylor Ave (Springfield), and Lincoln Middle School, 12 S. 10th St. (East St. Louis).

Registration and participation
