The Next Loop Endurance Series - Busse Woods
The Next Loop Endurance Series at Ned Brown Forest Preserve (Busse Woods) on August 15, 2026 uses a clearly marked 3.1 mile loop that returns each lap to a centralized start and finish area. The loop passes through mature woodlands, open meadows, lakeside sections, and shaded forest canopy.
The trail surface is primarily smooth crushed limestone and packed gravel with occasional paved connector sections. The terrain is mostly flat and non technical, and the course includes a fully stocked aid station located at the central start and finish area. The loop based format lets participants complete one 5K loop at a time and decide whether to continue; each completed loop is recorded and honored with no missed cutoffs.
The site sits just outside the Chicago metro area and is surrounded by lakes and forest preserve scenery. The event offers a range of preset distances so participants can choose how many loops to complete and manage pacing, nutrition, and recovery between laps.
