Frozen Trash Panda
Frozen Trash Panda is a trail race at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville, AL. It is the second race of the Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series and offers both a 1/2 Marathon and a 10K distance.
The event is capped at 400 runners. All entrants in the 10K and 1/2 Marathon receive a short sleeve tri-blend t-shirt and a finisher award; the shirt design is the same across the series. The course includes bluff views, mountain scenery, creek crossings, and waterfalls. Several aid stations are provided with items such as water, Gatorade, coke, GU, pretzels, M&M’s, and granola bars. The races are run as cupless events so participants must carry a hand held bottle, pack, or reusable cup; a RunningLane reusable cup is available for purchase for $5.
Packet pickup is at the RunningLane store in Huntsville with an additional pickup window the morning of the race. There are very loose cutoffs, with a 17 minute per mile cutoff for Long Series participants; organizers suggest shorter series options for those unable to maintain slower paces. The field has no refunds, deferrals, credits, or transfers and shirts or medals are not mailed to absent participants.
