Frozen Trash Panda

Frozen Trash Panda is the second race of the Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series held at Monte Sano State Park, 5105 Nolen Ave SE, Huntsville, AL 35801. The event offers two trail race distances:

• 10K
• Half Marathon

The field is capped at 400 runners. All entrants in the 10K and half marathon receive a short sleeve tri-blend t-shirt and a finisher award; the shirt design is the same for the entire series. Packet pickup is available at the RunningLane Store (2407 Memorial Parkway SW Suite 1, Huntsville, AL 35801) on the day before the race and also the morning of the race.

This is a cupless event: runners must carry a handheld bottle, pack, or reusable cup because paper cups will not be provided at aid stations. A reusable cup is available for purchase for $5 at checkout. Several aid stations on course will offer water, Gatorade, cola, GU, pretzels, M&M's, granola bars and similar items.

The trail courses include bluff views, mountain scenery, creek crossings and waterfalls. Age groups are 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+. There are very loose time cutoffs; long series participants should note a 17 minute per mile cutoff and organizers suggest considering shorter distances if unable to maintain roughly 15 minute miles.
