Frozen Trash Panda : Monte Sano State Park, Huntsville, AL

Frozen Trash Panda is the second race in the Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series, held at Monte Sano State Park (5105 Nolen Ave SE, Huntsville, AL). The event offers trail distances for runners on natural mountain terrain.

The event is a cupless race. Runners must carry a handheld bottle, pack, or reusable cup; a RunningLane reusable cup is available for purchase at checkout for $5. Several aid stations on course will provide water, Gatorade, coke, GU, pretzels, M&M's, granola bars and similar items.

Course features include bluff views, mountain scenery, creek crossings and waterfalls. The race is capped at 400 runners. All participants in the 10K and half marathon receive a short sleeve tri-blend t-shirt and a finisher award. The t-shirt design is the same for the entire series.

Packet pickup is available at the RunningLane Store (2407 Memorial Parkway SW Suite 1, Huntsville, AL 35801) on the Friday before the event and also the morning of the race. Registration closes on Wed, Dec 30 at 11:59 PM CT. The organizer lists very loose cutoffs and a 17 minute per mile cutoff for Long Series participants. Age groups run from 0-9 up to 70+.
