Frozen Rails 5K & 10K in Midway, KY
Frozen Rails is a community running event held on January 1, 2027 in Midway, Kentucky, with race activity centered at Walter Bradley Park and race headquarters at Northside Elementary School. The event includes timed races, untimed runs, a kids race, a virtual option, and volunteer opportunities.
Distances offered:
- 10K (6.2 miles): competitive timed run, no walkers, dogs on leash permitted
- 5K (3.1 miles): competitive timed run open to walkers, strollers and dogs on leash permitted
- 1 Mile: untimed fun run or walk, no awards
- 1K Little Rails: untimed kids run, all participants receive a kids medal
- Virtual 3.1 miles: mailed commemorative shirt and bib
Participants in timed races receive commemorative long-sleeved T-shirts. Chip timing is provided by RaceRise. Overall and age-group awards are presented for eligible timed races. On site amenities include Berserker Brew Coffee and hot cocoa, a DJ, free photos, and a Best Finish Line Photo contest. Partial proceeds benefit the Midway Ministerial Association, a partnership of local churches that provides support and funding for people in need. Packet pickup is available at specified locations and times in late December and on race day. A canned food drive will collect nonperishable donations for the Midway Food Pantry.
