Frozen Rails 5K & 10K
Frozen Rails takes place on January 1, 2027 in Midway, KY, with race activities centered at Walter Bradley Park and Race Headquarters at Northside Elementary School. The event includes multiple in-person distances, a virtual option, and volunteer opportunities. Partial proceeds benefit the Midway Ministerial Association, a collaboration of seven Midway area churches that support local needs.
The event distances include:
- 10K: competitive timed run; dogs on leashes permitted; overall and age group awards.
- 5K: competitive timed run; open to walkers, strollers, and dogs on leashes; awards.
- 1 Mile: untimed fun run/walk; commemorative long-sleeved T-shirt; no awards.
- 1K Kids' Run: untimed kids' race; participant medal for all children.
- Virtual 5K: virtual runner or walker option; commemorative shirt mailed.
Chip timing is provided by RaceRise for the timed events. Participants in the 5K and 10K receive commemorative long-sleeved T-shirts; the 1 Mile and virtual entries also include shirts, and kids receive medals. On-site amenities noted by the organizer include Berserker Brew Coffee serving coffee and hot chocolate, a DJ, free photos, and a Best Finish Line Photo contest. A canned goods drive will collect nonperishable donations for the Midway Food Pantry. Packet pickup is offered at J&H Running Company on 12/30/26, at Midway Christian Church on 12/31/26, and on race day at Northside Elementary School.
