Frigus Snowshoe Festival
The Frigus Snowshoe Festival takes place at Moreau Lake State Park in Gansevoort, NY on February 28, 2026. The event is organized by The Endurance Society and features multiple snowshoe race distances that start and finish on the beach in front of the nature center.
Distances offered:
- 15K single loop with approximately 2300 feet of elevation gain.
- 4.7 Mile single loop with about 750 feet of elevation gain.
- Kids 1 Miler starting on the same course, a 0.5 mile out and back for a 1 mile total.
Bib pickup is available on race day before the start. Snowshoes are mandatory for all participants. Snowshoe rentals are offered on a first come first serve basis through the organizer as an add-on during registration; the park office also maintains MSR rentals that are available directly at the main park office on a first come first serve basis and are not tracked by the organizer.
Facilities at the venue include port-a-john restrooms in the parking lot. Hot food and an aid station are provided at the finish area. All finishers receive a finisher award; top male and female finishers in each distance receive awards. Custom Endurance Society medals and event swag are distributed to finishers.
