Event Overview
The Bacon Hill Bonanza is a USATF sanctioned road race taking place in Schuylerville, New York. The event features multiple distances and serves as a fundraiser for the Schuylerville Area Food & Emergency Relief (S.A.F.E.R.) and the Bacon Hill Church. All races start and finish at the Bacon Hill Church located at 560 Route 32 North.
Participants can choose from several event distances:
- 10 km road race
- 5 km run / walk
- 1 mile kids fun run
- Virtual 5 km, 10 km, and 1 mile options
The 5 km and 1 mile courses are out and back routes on Stonebridge Road, which is closed to traffic during the event. The 10 km course utilizes rural country roads and includes some dirt sections. For the in person 10 km race, only Stonebridge Road is closed to vehicle traffic.
As a USATF sanctioned event, animals are not permitted. Finishers have access to amenities including chocolate milk, homemade cookies, and other treats. First place male and female winners in each age group receive a homemade pie. All kids participating in the fun run receive an ice cream cone gift certificate. The first 300 registered participants are provided with an event t-shirt.
Virtual participants may complete their chosen distance at any location. While the official race courses are marked and available for virtual runners prior to the event date, these roads remain open to traffic for those not participating in the in person race day.
