Friends of the Poor Walk : Crystal Lake
St. Thomas the Apostle Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is hosting the first annual Friends of the Poor® Walk on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Three Oaks Recreation, 5517 Northwest Hwy, Crystal Lake, IL 60014.
The event is a nationwide signature walk of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul USA intended to raise awareness and funds to support local Conference and Council services for neighbors in need. Funds raised will support safe, affordable temporary housing, essential resources for individuals experiencing homelessness, and financial assistance for people facing hardship.
The walk will include refreshments and snacks and a raffle with several gift baskets. T-shirts will be available online and after Mass on the weekends of September 12 and 19. Registration for the event is free.
Participants may choose from the following distances around the lake:
- 1 mile
- 3.4 miles
