Crystal Lake Half Marathon & 12K - September 6, 2026
The event offers two measured distances starting from Crystal Lake Main Beach in Crystal Lake, Illinois. The course passes Lippold Park, provides a view of the Dole Mansion, includes a section along the Prairie Path, and finishes in downtown Crystal Lake. The venue is point to point and provides bus transportation to the start with an approximate five minute ride.

Water stations are placed every 1.5 miles, with Gatorade available at miles 7.5, 9, 10.5, and 12. Bathrooms or porta potties are located at the start, mile 5, mile 11 at the Prairie Path building, and at the finish. EMS and first aid are available on course and at select water stations; medical response follows course marshal directions. The course is marked with ground arrows and supervised by course marshals.
Packet pick-up and race day logistics are organized through published schedules. The entry fee includes a ticket for one beer or one non-alcoholic beverage and a slice of pizza at the Smith Running Academy After Party. Age group awards for first through third place in the Half Marathon distance will be presented at the After Party location to be determined.
A youth program called Kids Run This Town runs for four weeks starting August 3 and adds a youth mile on race day for a finisher medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
