Friends of the National Arboretum Fall 5K
The event takes place at the U.S. National Arboretum in Washington, DC, within a 451-acre urban green space. The in-person route runs past garden collections showing fall foliage, over tree-lined rolling hills, and along streams that lead toward the Anacostia River. Roads are closed to cars during the race.
There are two participation options: an in-person 5K and a virtual 5K. The virtual option allows participants to run or walk a 5K and submit results. A professional race announcer will call out finishers and music is scheduled before and after the event. Strollers are welcome. Dogs are permitted only on a 6' non-retractable leash.
Registration for the in-person event is sold in tiers: the first 150 entries are $45, the next 150 are $50, the next 150 are $55, and the final 150 are $60. Tickets for children under 13 are free and there is no race day registration. Virtual entry is listed at $35. A 20% discount is available to furloughed federal employees, veterans, active duty and reserve military members, and to FONA members; a coupon code is required to receive the discount.
