About the race
The Marine Corps Marathon Organization is presenting the inaugural MCM 8K, held as part of Marine Corps Marathon Weekend on Saturday, October 24. The event offers a shorter, faster distance within the weekend schedule and includes on course Marine support and an official MCM Weekend finisher medal for participants.
The race is open to runners ages 10 and up. Runners and walkers must maintain a required pace of 14 minutes per mile. Participant bibs have the timing device attached to the reverse side and must remain in place for proper timing. An emergency medical and contact information form is printed on the back of the bib and must be completed by all participants.
All Marine Corps Marathon Weekend participants must attend Packet Pick-up at the MCM Health & Fitness Expo, located at the Building Museum, to obtain the official bib with timing device and the technical competitor shirt. Packet Pick-up dates and hours are October 22 and October 23, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Packet Pick-up is not available on event morning. Runners choose a Packet Pick-up time via the bib confirmation email. Proxy pick-up is allowed with the completed e-Card and copies of the runner’s and proxy’s photo IDs; parents may retrieve packets for children under 18.
The organization does not permit transfers or deferrals for the 2026 events; registrations are final. Refundable registration and optional Refund Protect coverage are available through TEAK and have specific time windows and documentation requirements.
