MCM 8K - Marine Corps Marathon
The Marine Corps Marathon Organization is introducing the inaugural 8K on October 24 as part of Marine Corps Marathon Weekend. The event emphasizes a shorter, faster distance within the weekend program and includes scenic views and on-course Marine support. Participants will receive an official MCM Weekend finisher medal.
The event is open to runners ages 10 and up. The required pace for runners and walkers is 14 minutes per mile.
Packet pick up is held at the Building Museum within the MCM Health & Fitness Expo. Packet pick up is scheduled on October 22 and October 23 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Packet pick up is not available on event morning. All participants must attend packet pick up to obtain the official bib with timing device and the technical competitor shirt. Participants must present their e-Card and a photo ID at pick up. Proxy pick up is allowed when the proxy presents the completed e-Card and a copy of the participant’s photo ID along with the proxy’s ID. Parents may sign waivers and retrieve packets for children under 18.
Participant bibs have the timing device attached to the reverse side and must remain in place for proper timing. An emergency medical and contact information form is printed on the back of the bib and must be completed.
The organization does not permit transfers or deferrals for the 2026 events; registrations are final. Refund Protect and refundable registration options are available through TEAK with specific time limits and documentation requirements. Official deferments granted from the 2025 season will be honored for participation in 2026. Certain refund exclusions apply, including concerns about COVID 19 without a positive test, event cancellation by organizers, and processing fees.
