About the race
The Marine Corps Marathon Organization is staging the inaugural MCM 8K on October 24 as part of Marine Corps Marathon Weekend. The event offers a shorter race distance within the MCM program and highlights scenic views, on-course Marine support, and the official MCM Weekend finisher medal distributed to participants. The race is open to runners ages 10 and up. All participants must maintain the required pace of 14 minutes per mile for runners and walkers.
Participant bibs include the timing device attached to the reverse side and must remain in place for proper timing. An emergency medical and contact information form appears on the back of the bib and must be completed by all participants. Packet pick-up is handled through the MCM Health & Fitness Expo at the Building Museum. Runners select a packet pick-up time via their race bib confirmation email; pick-up is not available on event morning.
Scheduled expo hours are October 22 and October 23, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Runners must present the e-Card and a photo ID at pick-up.
Proxy pick-up is permitted with the runner’s completed e-Card and copies of both the runner’s photo ID and the proxy’s ID; parents may retrieve packets and sign waivers for children under 18. Transfers or deferrals are not permitted for the 2026 events and registrations are final. Refundable registration protection is available through TEAK with specific rules, deadlines, and exclusions.
