The MCM 8K is a new race added to Marine Corps Marathon Weekend, offered as a shorter, fast-paced distance that awards an official MCM Weekend finisher medal. The event is described as featuring scenic views and on-course Marine support and is presented as the inaugural running of this 8K.
Registration is open to runners ages 10 and up. The required pace for runners and walkers is 14 minutes per mile. Transfers and deferrals are not permitted for the 2026 events; all registrations are final. Official deferments granted from the 2025 season will be honored for participation in 2026.
Packet pick-up is required and takes place at the MCM Health & Fitness Expo at the Building Museum. Packet pick-up is scheduled on October 22 and October 23 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is not available on event morning. Runners select a packet pick-up time via the race bib confirmation email; this scheduling system is intended to minimize wait times. Participants must bring the e-Card and a photo ID. Proxy pick-up is permitted with a completed e-Card and copies of the runner’s and proxy’s IDs. Parents may sign waivers and retrieve packets for children under 18.
Participant bibs include a timing device affixed to the reverse side that must remain in place, and an emergency medical and contact information form on the back that all participants must complete.
Refundable registration and optional Refund Protect coverage are available through TEAK; specific refund rules, time limits, and exclusions apply. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
