MCM 8K - Marine Corps Marathon
The MCM 8K is a new race introduced as part of Marine Corps Marathon Weekend. The inaugural event is scheduled for Saturday, October 24 and offers a shorter, faster distance within the MCM program. The event description notes scenic views, on-course Marine support, and an official MCM Weekend finisher medal for participants.
Registration is open and the event accepts runners age 10 and up. Packet pick-up takes place at the MCM Health & Fitness Expo at the Building Museum on October 22 and October 23, with scheduled pick-up times to reduce wait times and crowding. Packet pick-up is not available on event morning. All weekend participants must attend Packet Pick-up to receive the official bib with the timing device and the technical competitor shirt. Participants must bring their e-Card and a photo ID. Proxy pick-up is permitted if the designated individual presents the completed e-Card and copies of both the runner’s photo ID and the proxy’s ID. Parents may sign waivers and pick up packets for minors under 18.
Official participant bibs have the timing device attached to the reverse side and an emergency medical and contact information form on the back; participants must complete this information. The organizing body does not permit transfers or deferrals for the 2026 events. Refundable registration protection is available through a third party called TEAK with specific time limits and documentation requirements. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
