2026 Semper Fi 5k & Half
The Semper Fi 5k & Half takes place on October 24 at two locations along the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal path in Washington, DC: Georgetown near the Potomac Boat Club and Fletcher’s Boathouse. The event includes both a half marathon and a 5K, each run as an out-and-back on the canal towpath.
Distances:
- Half marathon - starts and finishes in Georgetown near the Potomac Boat Club.
- 5K - starts and finishes at Fletcher’s Boathouse.
Both courses use the C&O Canal path, described as a light gravel dirt road or flat trail with minimal elevation change. The half marathon has multiple water stations and the 5K has one water station; Gatorade is available at some stations. Restroom facilities are provided near each start/finish area; port-a-johns are listed for Georgetown and indoor restrooms at Fletcher’s.
Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Dri-fit) event shirt, and chip timing. Live results are posted on Athlinks and via an on-course QR code; final results with series points are posted after the race. Packet pickup is available at the event. There is no on-site race registration.
The event offers a virtual race option and benefits Semper Fi & America’s Fund. It awards top three overall finishers and age-group places, and it awards series points toward Year-Long 5K, Endurance, Back of the Pack, and Fall Series standings.
