2026 Semper Fi 5k & Half
This event offers two distances that run on the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal path in Georgetown. Both courses are out-and-back on a light gravel trail with minimal elevation change. The half marathon starts and finishes in Georgetown near the Potomac Boat Club; the 5K starts and finishes at Fletcher’s Boathouse. Walkers are welcome.
Distances:
- Half Marathon : out-and-back on the C&O Canal; starts and ends in Georgetown.
- 5K : out-and-back on the C&O Canal at Fletcher’s Boathouse.
Points from these races count toward the Year-Long 5K, Endurance, and Back of the Pack series, and also toward the Fall Series. A virtual race option is available for those who cannot attend in person. The half marathon has a 3:15 time limit for completion; race officials can arrange an earlier start for slower paces.
Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Drifit) event shirt (guaranteed for registrations before Oct 14), and chip timing. There are seven water stations on the half marathon course and one on the 5K; Gatorade is available at some stations. Restroom facilities are provided near the registration areas at both venues.
Packet pickup is available the evening before at Road Runner Sports in Arlington and also at the event. There is no on-site race registration on race day.
