French Creek TriFest (Triathlon & SwimFest) : May 16-17, 2026
The event takes place at French Creek State Park in Elverson, PA, with the start area near Hopewell Lake and the park office at 843 Park Road. The weekend combines a triathlon program on Saturday with a SwimFest and splash-and-dash events on Sunday. The triathlon program includes sprint and Olympic distances, aquabike and relay divisions, and sprint and Olympic duathlons. The tri and youth splash-and-dash events are USAT-sanctioned. Custom awards are given to the top three in each age group for each event. A hot food buffet is provided for racers and volunteers.
Courses and rules
Courses published by the organizer specify a 750 m swim loop (sprint 1 loop, Olympic 2 loops), a 12.1 mile bike loop (sprint) and a 22.1 mile option for Olympic competitors, plus a 5K sprint run and a 10K Olympic run. Run surfaces are approximately half paved trail and half gravel fire road. Wetsuit rules follow USAT thresholds: wetsuit wearers will not be counted in official results if water temperature exceeds 78º F; no wetsuits are allowed if temperature exceeds 84º F. The organizer will post water temperature information during the week before the race and announce the final temperature on race morning.
