French Creek TriFest (Triathlon & SwimFest) takes place Saturday and Sunday, May 16-17, 2026, at French Creek State Park, 843 Park Rd., Elverson, PA 19520. The weekend includes triathlon, duathlon, open water swim races, a SwimRun, and adult and youth Splash and Dash events. The French Creek Tri and the Youth Splash and Dash are USAT sanctioned. Custom awards are given to the top three in each age group for each event. A hot food buffet is provided for racers and volunteers. Parking is in the park's upper (day use) lot; parking on grass is not allowed and may lead to disqualification. There are no refunds and no rain date; entries may roll into next year or be deferred to another event with a nominal fee if requested at least 14 days before the event.
Courses, distances and rules
- 750 m swim (Sprint 1 loop; Olympic 2 loops)
- 12.1 mile bike (Sprint 1 loop)
- 22.1 mile bike (Olympic 2 loops)
- 5K run (Sprint)
- 10K run (Olympic)
- Splash and Dash - 250 m swim, 1 mile run (adult); youth 250 m or 100 m swim, 1 mile run
- SwimFest - 800 m, 1600 m, 5K open water swims
Sprint duathlon is 1 mile run, 12.1 mile bike, 5K run. Olympic duathlon is 1 mile run, 22.1 mile bike, 10K run. The run courses are approximately half paved trail and half gravel fire road. USAT wetsuit temperature rules apply; water temperature postings and final announcements are made in the week before and on race morning. Cell phone reception in the park is unreliable.
