French Creek TriFest (Triathlon & SwimFest) - Elverson, PA
The French Creek TriFest is a two-day multisport event held at French Creek State Park on May 16-17, 2026, based at Hopewell Lake and the park boat rental area. Events span triathlon, duathlon and standalone open-water swim races, plus adult and youth Splash and Dash races.
Events and course highlights:
- Sprint Triathlon and Olympic Triathlon including Aquabike and Relay divisions
- Sprint and Olympic Duathlon (Sprint: 1 mile run, 12.1 mile bike, 5K run; Olympic: 1 mile run, 22.1 mile bike, 10K run)
- Adult and Youth Splash and Dash (youth: 11+ 250m swim, 1 mile run; 10U 100m swim, 1 mile run)
- SwimFest with multiple open-water swim events and longer swims
Triathlon course details note a 750 m swim (Sprint 1 loop, Olympic 2 loops), a 12.1 mile bike loop (Olympic 2 loops for 22.1 miles) and run courses that are roughly half paved trail and half gravel fire road.
Logistics and rules state that select races are USAT sanctioned, awards are given to the top three in each age group, and a hot food buffet is provided for racers and volunteers. Wetsuit use follows USAT temperature rules: wetsuit results and use depend on measured water temperature; final temperature is announced before racing. Parking is in the upper day-use lot and parking on grass is prohibited and may lead to disqualification. No refunds and no rain date; entry deferral options are available with conditions.
