Event Overview
The Freedom Run 2026, also called the Oakland Freedom Run & Community Wellness Festival, is scheduled for February 28, 2026. It will be held at Raimondi Park in Oakland, California. The event commemorates the 60th anniversary of the Black Panther Party and the 100th year of Black History Month. It is intended as a symbolic run for freedom, justice, and health equity.
Run Information
The event centers on a 5K distance that participants can run or walk. Registration for the 5K includes a bib, a timing chip, and a finisher's medal.
Registration Fees
Fees are set on a tiered, sliding scale. Youth under 18 years old pay $15 plus tax. Seniors aged 60 and above pay $20 plus tax. Adult registrants can choose from contribution levels of $25, $50, or $75, each plus tax. Children under 5 years old participate for free.
Additional Activities
A free community wellness festival accompanies the run. This festival involves local healthcare providers, mental health services, and community organizations.
