Stars, Stripes, & Strides
Stars, Stripes, & Strides is a multi-distance running event held in Cary, North Carolina, to celebrate Veterans Day weekend. The event takes place at Fred G. Bond Metro Park and serves as a benefit for the US Veterans Corps, an organization of military and first responder veterans who perform community service missions such as food assistance and disaster relief.
The event offers several in-person and virtual participation options:
- 15K (In-person and virtual)
- 10K (In-person and virtual)
- 5K (In-person and virtual)
- 1 Mile Fun Run (In-person and virtual)
- Kids in Strollers (Specific registration required)
The course at Fred G. Bond Metro Park accommodates various participation styles, including running, walking, and pushing strollers. Parents registered for the 5K, 10K, or Fun Run may push children in strollers, provided the child is also registered under their own name.
Participants in the 5K, 10K, and 15K distances receive a race shirt and a finisher medal. Awards are available for the top three male and female finishers overall and in specific age groups. Additionally, participants can earn points toward the Fit & Able Free-for-All Race Series.
The in-person event features a mass start for the primary distances, and the course remains open for 90 minutes. Registration remains open until shortly before the race for many categories, though shirt availability is guaranteed for those who sign up by late October.
