Freedom 5k - Keystone Heights
This event is a 5k run/walk held in Keystone Heights, Florida, on July 4, 2026. It is part of the town's Independence Day celebration, which also includes a parade, arts and crafts, and food vendors.
The event benefits the Jordan Cooper Memorial Scholarship Fund, a nonprofit organization that provides scholarships to Keystone Heights High School graduates. The first 400 finishers will receive a medal. Professional chip timing is provided by Florida Race Day.
The course starts and finishes on Lawrence Boulevard in front of Keystone Heights City Hall. It is described as well-shaded and winds through neighborhoods near Keystone Heights Elementary School. There are water stations at mile 1, mile 2.25, and the start/finish area.
Packet pickup is at City Hall the day before the event and on race morning. Parking is available at a nearby community church, a two-block walk from the start. Bikes, skates, skateboards, and scooters are not permitted, but wheelchairs and strollers are allowed.
Awards are given to the top three overall male and female finishers. Additional awards recognize the top male and female finisher in various age categories and a wheelchair division.
Registration fees increase over time. A dry-fit performance T-shirt is guaranteed for participants who register before a specified date in June. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
