Event Overview
The Fox Valley Winter Challenge Trail Series 10K is the final race of a three-part winter trail series. It takes place at Hickory Knolls Discovery Center in St. Charles, Illinois.
Course Details
The race covers a distance of 10K. The course uses multiple types of terrain, including dirt paths, crushed limestone, grass, gravel, and pavement. It features a few short climbs and long stretches. Trail conditions in March may include mud, ice, or snow.
Participant Information
Registration is open until the morning of the race. All finishers receive a medal and a winter hat. Runners who complete all three races in the series (5K, 8K, and 10K) receive additional items: bib snaps and a hooded zip sweatshirt.
Logistics
The start and finish line is near the Hickory Knolls Nature Pavilion. Parking is free, with a large lot near the pickleball courts. Bathrooms are located inside the Hickory Knolls Discovery Center and a porta-potty is near the pavilion. There are no water stations on the course, but water and snacks are provided at the finish line. There is no gear check. Headphones are allowed but runners are advised to be mindful of their surroundings. Dogs are not permitted on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
