Event
The Chicken Run is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2026 in Batavia, Illinois at the Peg Bond Center, 151 N. Island Avenue. The event offers the following distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- 1/2 Mile Kids Dash
A virtual option for the 5K and 10K is available with a participation window from April 18 to April 25, 2026. Virtual participants will receive race SWAG shipped the week of April 18, 2026 and can submit results via the event platform or supported tracking apps.
Logistics and entries
Packet pickup is available both before race day and on race day; a pre-race packet pickup is listed for April 16 at Dick Pond Athletics in St. Charles. Registration fees vary by event and registration date. All 5K and 10K finishers receive a custom finisher's medal. Kids Dash participants receive a chicken hat and a goodies bag; no shirt is provided for the Kids Dash.
Age-group awards are given for both 5K and 10K, including top overall male and female and 1st through 3rd places in listed age categories. Parking is available in front of and next to the Peg Bond Center, with additional parking within walking distance; participants are asked to observe posted no-parking signs in nearby bank lots. Transfers are allowed for a $5 fee; deferrals are not permitted. Sponsors include Dick Pond Athletics, Comfort Inn & Suites of Geneva, and Atlas Chicken Shack.
