Event Overview
The Chicken Run is an athletic event held at the Peg Bond Center on North Island Avenue in Batavia, Illinois. Scheduled for April 18, 2026, the event offers multiple distance options on certified courses. Participants can choose between in-person races or virtual participation if they are unable to attend the physical location.
The event includes the following distances and formats:

All participants in the 5K and 10K races receive a custom finisher's medal. An awards ceremony follows the races to recognize top performers. For the 5K, awards are presented to the top overall male and female runners, as well as the top three finishers in age groups ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over. The 10K features similar awards for the top overall male and female, with age group categories starting from 14 and under through 70 and over.
The courses are certified for distance accuracy. The event accommodates various participants, as both dogs and strollers are permitted. For those choosing the virtual format, participants can record their distance using a tracking app or submit manual results between April 18 and April 25, 2026. Race materials for virtual runners are shipped during the week of the event.
