Fox Lake Sprint Triathlon : June 7, 2026
The Fox Lake Sprint Triathlon is a USAT-sanctioned sprint triathlon held in Fox Lake, Illinois. The event is in its ninth year and accepts both individual racers and relay teams. Packet pick-up is available at partner locations before race weekend and at the race site during the race weekend.
Distances:
- 750 yard swim (triangle course)
- 12 mile bike
- 3.1 mile run
The swim is a 750-yard triangle with buoys kept to the left, two inflatable "duck" turns, and a marked finish. The bike course covers 12 miles with rolling sections and some continuous stretches suitable for higher speeds; a USAT official monitors the bike course and drafting is not permitted. The run is an out-and-back 3.1-mile course with over two miles on an asphalt bike path.
Logistics note that parking is available within two blocks of the transition area and the finish line is very close to transition, making the venue accessible for spectators. Post-race amenities include music, food for racers, and awards presented near the finish when the last competitor has finished; older age groups receive awards prior to younger groups. Registration closes on June 5, 2026; a full refund (less processing fee) is available before May 19, 2026, and transfers must be completed by June 1, 2026.
The event is part of a Lake County Triathlon Series offering three sprint races at a single rate, limited to 50 series participants, with additional series swag and a commemorative medal for those who start and finish all three races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
