Foster5K + Kids Dash
The Foster5K + Kids Dash is the 10th annual community running event in San Jose that raises funds for Child Advocates of Silicon Valley and its Court Appointed Special Advocate program. The event takes place at Martial Cottle Park, 5283 Snell Ave, San Jose, CA 95136.
The program includes an in-person chip timed 5K, a virtual 5K, and two untimed youth dashes. In-person 5K participants receive a race shirt, chip timed bib, finisher medal, eligibility for timed awards, and a free raffle ticket; the event also features a festival with music, food, drink, and activities. Virtual 5K participants may choose pickup or mail delivery of a shirt, finisher medal, and virtual bib for a shipping fee. Big and Little Kids Dashes include a youth t-shirt, bib, finisher medal, and festival access.
Prizes and recognition are part of the 5K results. Overall awards include prizes for the top three finishers, with first place in male, female, and all-gender categories receiving a pair of SHOKZ headphones. Age division prizes are awarded across standard age groups, and winners in each kids dash gender category receive an 8 inch Squishmallow plus a participant goodie bag.
